PEDRO DI LASCIO

Born in 1908 and died in Asuncion in 1978.  Studied Painting in Paraguay.  Then he takes part in the renewing movement of Paraguayan Art initiated by Joao Rossi and the Group of New Art.  He cultivated naïf painting.  Later took art courses in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay), Buenos Aires and Cordoba (Argentina).  Also wood engraving with Livio Abramo in Asuncion.

Made individual exhibitions in Paraguay since 1966.  And abroad at the Lirolay Gallery in Buenos Aires in 1969 and 1972; Galilea del Mar, La Plata (Argentina) in 1973.  Takes part in biennials in Sao Paulo in the versions IV, VI, VIII, IX; XI and obtained the First prize in Painting at the Art Competition in the Paraguayan American Cultural Centre (1964); Mention at the Grand Prix of Monaco (19659; Honour Mention at the IV Engraving Biennial in Santiago de Chile (1970).
